
Renton RFA Thanks Fairwood Community for Strong Support of Proposition 1
RENTON, WA, May 02, 2025 — The Renton Regional Fire Authority (Renton RFA) extends its sincere thanks to the Fairwood community following the successful passage of King County Fire District 40’s Proposition 1 in the April Special Election. With 79.85% of voters in support, this outcome not only reflects strong community engagement but also reinforces a shared commitment to public safety and trusted service.
“For over 17 years, Renton RFA has had the privilege of serving the Fairwood community. This vote affirms the strong connection we’ve built together, and we are grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us,” said Fire Chief Steve Heitman. “We are proud to continue as your permanent fire department and look forward to serving you for many more years to come.”
The approval of Proposition 1 marks a significant step in formalizing the long-standing partnership between Renton RFA and King County Fire District 40. It ensures uninterrupted, high-quality fire and emergency services for the Fairwood area under the continued care of Renton RFA’s dedicated firefighters and staff.
Renton RFA also thanks the King County Fire District 40 Board of Fire Commissioners for placing this important measure on the ballot and for their continued trust in the organization. The Board’s vision, collaboration, and commitment to the residents of Fairwood have been key to the success of this partnership.
