Firefighters undergo intensive training to prepare to take on real-world emergencies. That training does not stop at fire academy. Renton RFA works closely with our regional partners in public service to provide our firefighters with state-of-the-art, realistic fire and life safety training that prepares them for a multitude of conditions and circumstances, so that they are best prepared to serve our community when in need.
Earlier this month, all of our crews participated in a highly technical trauma drill. The drill included a number of scenarios that required both training dummies, as well as real-life volunteers, to play out different events and circumstances. Neighboring agencies were included in the training to account for the mutual aid aspect of a real call. That mutual aid was provided by Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Tukwila Fire Department, or Fire District 20 – Skyway depending on the day.
We are always proud of our team and the effort it takes to put on these trainings, as well as the participation of our team as they execute them.
