Burn Ban Lifted Effective 10.15.25

Burn Ban Lifted Effective 10.15.25

The following press release was issued by the King County Fire Chiefs Association:

KING COUNTY, Wash. – The King County Fire Marshals, in conjunction with the King County Fire Chiefs Association and the King County Fire Marshal, are lifting the current Stage 1 burn ban (residential burning) effective October 15th, 2025.

The decision to lift the ban comes after careful monitoring of weather conditions and fuel moisture levels, which have returned to safer levels. The termination of the Burn Ban allows recreational and residential burning to resume per your local jurisdiction’s requirements. However, it’s important to note that most municipalities do not allow residential burning year-round and/or require special permits. For this reason, residents are encouraged to know their local requirements for outdoor burning and maintain a fire-safe environment. If you have any questions, please contact your local fire department.

The King County Fire Marshals Association appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience during the burn ban period. We still urge everyone to continue practicing fire safety and remain vigilant.
