  • On 9/24/19 Renton RFA responded to a wildland fire in Station 15’s area at the 12200 block of 95th Way in May Creek Park in Kennydale. We responded with Puget Sound RFA units from Kent and Maple Valley with 2 engines, 1 brush truck and 1 officer rig for a total of 12 RFA personnel.  The incident was due to hillside vegetation debris that caught fire.  It could not been determined how the wildland fire started due to the topography and instability of the hillside.  Since it was not safe for fire crews, the determination was made to let the fire burn itself out naturally.  Nearby residents were contacted and informed of the voluntary evacuation of the are due to the fire.  Residents were also informed there could be smoke for a few days due to the fire burning itself out.  The City of Renton Public Works, City of Newcastle Public Works, State DNR, Bellevue FD and Renton RFA are watching this fire to make sure it does not spread to neighboring homes.
  • On 9/25/19 Renton RFA responded to an out of jurisdiction residential fire at the 7900 block of 129th Pl in Newcastle.
